MILAN, Italy — 22 January 2026 — The Scientology Volunteer Ministers have brought their distinctive yellow tent in Milan, offering a street-level point for hands-on assistance and listening support, alongside simple “Tools for Life” techniques that can be applied to daily problems. Previously deployed in cities including New York, London, Paris, Berlin, Madrid, Rome and Naples, the Yellow Tent is designed to let residents meet trained volunteers directly and learn straightforward methods for handling stress, improving communication and resolving conflicts, as well as support after personal emergencies.
Volunteer Ministers are community volunteers trained through 19 introductory courses covering communication, relationships, study skills, workplace challenges and conflict resolution. The approach is personal and practical: understand what the person faces and provide an actionable technique.
In Italy, Volunteer Ministers have supported communities during major emergencies including L’Aquila (2009) and Emilia-Romagna (2012), and have also assisted during recent floods in Marche (2022) and Romagna (2023), working alongside local institutions and civil protection actors to help remove mud and debris and restore access.
In Milan, news eu commission activity expanded during the COVID-19 period with sanitisation initiatives and distribution of basic necessities. Organisers say volunteers then continued with community care work, including over 160 consecutive Saturdays of community clean-up and support, extending across all nine municipal areas of the city, while also contributing to solidarity efforts such as supporting aid shipments to Ukraine.
Ivan Arjona, Scientology’s representative to the European Union, OSCE, Council of Europe and UN, said: “Across Europe, we see that communities become stronger when citizens feel equipped to help one another in practical ways—calmly, respectfully and without prejudice. Their work reflects a civic principle: support starts with listening and providing tools that help people regain the ability to act and contribute.”
